A Ka Huna Bodywork session refers to a traditional or authentic Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage experience where the recipient lies directly on a waterproof/oilproof sheet on the massage table rather than on top of cotton sheets or towels. This approach is accompanied by the option of minimal draping (using only a towel) or no draping and a high volume of warm oil, facilitating long, continuous, wave-like strokes that sweep under the body.

Key Characteristics of “Bare Table” Lomi Lomi:
Direct Contact with Oil: The therapist uses significantly more oil than a standard massage. The oil is applied directly to the skin and the table, allowing the practitioner's forearms to glide seamlessly around, over, and under the body.
Enhanced Fluidity & Flow: Without sheets to create friction or get tangled, the therapist can perform long, uninterrupted, dance-like strokes. This technique simulates the ebb and flow of ocean waves.
Minimal to no Draping: The focus is on freedom of movement, meaning only intimate areas are covered with a small towel, if preferred. This allows the therapist to work on the entire back, glutes, and limbs without needing to pause or rearrange sheets.

Maximum Skin Exposure: The recipient is typically completely naked under the small modesty covering (if desired)

Physical and Energetic Connection: The bare table technique is believed to provide a deeper "loving hands" experience, enhancing the flow of energy (Mana) and allowing for a more profound connection and letting go.

Aside from the obvious relaxation experienced during a Lomi massage, clients are also gifted with a release from anxiety, fear, and other negative emotions caused by energetic blockages.

This compassionate massage is deeper than traditional Lymphatic Drainage Massage, and while not painful, it renders similar benefits to deep tissue work.
